LPC Associate Supervision

LPC Associate Supervision

As a Board Approved Supervisor recognized by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council, I accept a limited number of LPC Associates for clinical supervision. I am selective about who I work with because supervision matters, and doing it well requires real investment on both sides.

My Approach to Supervision

I take supervision seriously because I have seen what happens when it is treated as a formality. New clinicians get thrown into complex situations without adequate guidance, and both they and their clients suffer for it.

My role as your supervisor is to help you translate your academic training into real clinical skill. That means working through difficult cases together, managing countertransference, exploring different intervention strategies, and helping you develop a therapeutic style that is genuinely yours rather than a copy of what you learned in a textbook.

For many associates, the supervision relationship takes on a depth that mirrors the therapeutic relationship itself. You will experience moments of confidence and moments of uncertainty. Learning to manage both is a critical part of your development as a clinician.

How Supervision Works

Supervision is $450 per month. We meet for at least one hour each week. Up to half of your required supervision hours may be fulfilled through group supervision, which is included in your monthly fee.

Supervision sessions are conducted virtually, following the same secure video platform I use for client sessions. This allows me to work with associates across Texas regardless of location.

As your skills and confidence develop, I may invite you to observe sessions with consenting clients. If clients are comfortable, you may also participate in the dialogue. These opportunities provide hands-on learning that is difficult to replicate through case discussion alone.

What I Expect from You

I work with associates who are building their own client base, either through an employer or a private practice. I do not provide a formal internship with guaranteed clients, though I will make referrals when appropriate.

I expect preparation, honesty, and a genuine interest in growing as a clinician. If you are looking for someone to sign off on your hours without meaningful engagement, I am not the right fit. If you want a supervisor who will push you, support you, and help you become the kind of therapist your clients deserve, we should talk.

Logistics

Some employers will cover all or part of supervision fees. You may also want to consult a CPA or the IRS about whether supervision fees qualify as a deductible business expense.

I accept a limited number of supervisees at any given time to ensure each person receives focused attention.
